Robust Chiller
Client Requirement:
The client's primary objective was to augment the durability and resilience of an existing chiller unit. This necessitated the replacement of fragile plastic casings with robust, impact-resistant alternatives, aligning with specific industrial prerequisites and use cases.
Engineering Innovations
Electrical Control System Redesign:
- The project commenced with a meticulous overhaul of the electrical control system.
- It was noted that the existing casings played a pivotal role in the functionality of fixtures and fittings supporting the electrical infrastructure.
- Delicate membrane switches were replaced with tamper-proof CE marked 230V switches.
- An intricate rewiring process was executed, tailored to seamlessly integrate with the unit's PCB.
Uncompromising Durability:
- In anticipation of corrosive environments, 430-grade stainless steel was chosen, prioritizing functional performance over aesthetics.
- A brushed finish was applied, and electro-chemical etching was employed for button notation, achieving a polished industrial aesthetic that harmonized with practical functionality.
- Retaining the original dispenser's position, a non-removable drip tray system was engineered.
- It efficiently drained into a designated container within the chiller's base, ensuring uncompromised functionality and facilitating ease of maintenance and usage.
Client Deliverables
The project concluded with the build pack handover, equipping them for a seamless transition to the manufacturing phase. This included, but was not restricted to:
- Electrical drawings, engineering drawings, sheet metal drawings, and cutting files.
- Illustration files customized for laser etching.
- Detailed assembly drawings and packaging drawings.
- A comprehensive standard operating procedure for manufacturing.
- Essential certifications for electrical components and water fittings were provided to ensure compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements.
